Last Friday Night on SmackDown, it appeared to most wrestling fans that when CM Punk came out to do his speech about drugs and prescription medication, it was the same old routine. But if you go on YouTube, or somewhere, and listen to Punk’s speech one more time you can hear a hidden message. Right before Matt Hardy interrupted him, he said, “I do have one vice, I’d say it’s more of an anaconda.” If you translate those words, you think he’s talking about drugs but those who can “talk wrestling” know that this is a sign of the anaconda vise which will be kept as a “surprise” until Breaking Point. For those that don’t watch TNA, their Knockout division is a lot different from WWE’s diva division. TNA can put on 2 or 3 knockout matches a show and it can still be great because they truly have the best women’s division in the world and you see extreme matches, steel cage matches, whatever you want from the Knockouts. Anjelina is one of those divas that simply cannot be replaced.

Another top superstar, Homicide, is unhappy that TNA broke him up with former LAX partner, Hernandez, so he has asked for his release. Homicide is 32 years old and now that he has broken up with Hernandez everyone including him knows that he will become irrelevant. They broke up for Hernandez to get his push in the singles division.

Closing Thoughts

More than likely you will see Anjelina Love back in TNA within a month. How they will handle her partner, Velvet Sky, and her role in that storyline remains a mystery. As for Homicide, expect him to get a small push. If he doesn’t, talk has been going around about him joining the WWE and all of the wrestling community would probably want to see how that plays out.

Now, we have been so eager and anxious to see his face turn in recent months that we have completely forgotten about the second “Legacy” member, Cody Rhodes. One thing is for Randy Orton to have two henchmen. That idea is so tempting that he has had these same two henchmen for eight months now, believe it or not. But having him have only one henchman especially with the size of Cody Rhodes is not the best of ideas. So should Ted DiBiase turn face, maybe even win the WWE title, which is another rumor going around, Rhodes will go nowhere.

Randy Orton, as old as he looks, is only 29 years old. He is only 3 years older than DiBiase and 5 older than Rhodes. He is not Hardcore Holly. He will not move away from the main event scene for at least another year or two just to push guys like Rhodes. For those that expect Rhodes & Orton to form a tag team when DiBiase leaves “The Legacy” are dead wrong. It’ll never happen, and Orton, being a close friend of Vince McMahon has all the connections he needs to be in the title picture as long as he wants.

The last thought would be to keep Rhodes in “The Legacy” for a while longer and add another young guy like Jack Swagger or Chris Masters. The thing is though, WWE wants to keep them in the midcard for now and guys like Swagger & Masters may not have a dad in the hall of fame but they do have what it takes to main event.

So with that said, both Rhodes & DiBiase need a face turn in the next 3 months. Face turns don’t happen overnight so December would definitely be too late. Last Monday night on RAW, after Dusty Rhodes made a plan for the Legacy to ambush DX & Cena, Orton RKO’ed Dusty and you could see Cody Rhodes get pissed signaling that he will leave the Legacy sooner or later. Both Rhodes & DiBiase will have succesful careers with their connections but the question is, who is ready to leave “The Legacy” first? I will let you guys answer that.

Closing Thoughts

The best way to do this would be to have them do what they did a year ago at “Night of Champions 08.” Have Rhodes & Orton vs. DiBiase & a mystery partner at a pay-per-view after DiBiase turns face and have Rhodes kick Orton in the skull and be DiBiase’s manager for a while as a face. Now the Roundtable might’ve never formed had TNA not brought back stable wars. Since October we have seen one of the greatest stables in wrestling history, The Main Event Mafia. Recently, World Elite & The TNA Originals became legit stables and the same month WWE brought back DX and even formed the Roundtable. This means two things – WWE still cares about their competition no matter what Vince says, and two, ECW is becoming interesting again.

The Roundtable’s first appearance was on the August 18th edition of ECW on SyFy. Regal & Kozlov attacked Dreamer backstage “injuring” him then later on in the night it was Regal & Kozlov vs. Jackson & Christian with Jackson turning on Christian and all 3 assaulting him. Christian & Dreamer being on-screen good friends means they will eventually join forces to feud with the Roundtable. However, 2 people is a tag team and not a stable.

So, with that being said, the WWE universe wonders who the 3rd member will be. I would honestly have Paul Burchill join The RT and have a 4-on-4 feud but ECW simply does not have enough guys to do that. As for Christian’s and Dreamer’s partner, the only logical answer would be The Animal, Batista.

As we all know Batista is set to return sometime around WWE Bragging Rights. It would be logical to have him return at Survivor Series which is in Washington DC, Batista’s hometown, and is the “return” pay-per-view but he is already cleared to compete and having him wait 2 months would not be good. However, should he return to RAW, there would be nowhere for Batista to go. RAW does not need him anymore. As a face, we’ve got John Cena in the title mix and now that he’s there he won’t go back to fighting the Miz anytime soon. Shawn Michaels recently returned bringing back DX. DX may be a tag team but don’t think they are not main event superstars any longer. And besides, either Cody Rhodes or Ted DiBiase will turn face in the next couple of months not making things any easier for the animal.

As a heel, we’ve got Randy Orton, who will be the top heel on RAW for a long time to come. Chris Jericho, may be on SmackDown, but he and Big Show play a huge part on RAW.

Should Batista come back as a heel, he’ll feud with MVP or Kofi Kingston which as you can probably tell will never happen. Should Batista come back as a face, he’ll feud with Jack Swagger which would elevate Swagger but perhaps hurt Batista’s status. SmackDown is now the brand for young, high flyers so Batista would only hurt the ratings there.

The only logical answer is for him to go to ECW and feud with the Roundtable. The way to do that is simple – have a heel guest host “punish” him by putting him in a 3-on-1 handicap match and have him get his ass kicked. That’ll have a nice transition and boost ECW ratings.

Now Hardy’s departure, leaves you wondering, who will replace him? Will SmackDown ratings drop? The truth is SmackDown ratings will not drop because Jeff was getting a little rusty and the Undertaker is back which will make up for the loss of Jeff. But the Undertaker is 44 years old, and one must think that the Undertaker cannot replace Jeff because Jeff is a high-flying, young cruiserweight while the Undertaker, with all due respect, is an older wrestler with a limited moveset.

Jeff Hardy’s replacement has to be like Jeff, if a person as dynamic as him even exists. Here are the top 5 picks for his replacement:

#5 – Rey Mysterio

Mysterio is only a year older than Jeff and he is as extreme. However, the feeling is that Mysterio will have Shawn Michaels’ role in the future and that is building up younger guys like Dolph Ziggler. After his suspension, Rey will not get a push anyway so this would be awesome but chances are very slim.

#4 – Christian

Christian won’t be on ECW forever. Eventually, he will have to move up to the big boys seeing as he was once TNA’s top heel. His former partner, Edge, is set to return at the Royal Rumble and since he is supposed to return as a face, both him & Christian can reunite. This, however, also has a slim chance of happening as ECW ratings are going up and ECW needs Christian to feud with the Roundtable.

#3 – Matt Hardy

Matt has been here as long as Jeff but in his long career he has never gotten his big push. As most fans think, I believe Matt deserves a nice big push but the WWE probably will not do that because Matt doesn’t have a big fanbase like his brother and on top of that he is more of a technical wrestler and less of a high flyer so once again – slim chance.

#2 – R-Truth

This is probably the slimmest chance of all but this would be one of the best ideas. R-Truth has been on SmackDown for a year now and has done absolutely nothing. He is a former TNA World Champion and he has what it takes to be the top guy. People, apparently, don’t have faith because of his age but it’s not like age stopped Batista from getting a push 4 years ago. So this would be something to consider.

And #1 – John Morrison

If you read JR’s blogs you know that the next two guys being built up are Dolph Ziggler & John Morrison which is good because Morrison has been here longer than most of the guys (since 2004) and has never really been pushed. He is younger than Jeff and he has what it takes to become an even bigger star.
